Economic Development Committee
Meets 4th Tuesday of each month in City Council Chambers at noon.  $5 for lunch.
To encourage, promote and assist in development of industry, business, housing and institutions in South Salt Lake.  Help business in their plans of expansion or improvements.   Partnership with South Salt Lake City Economic Development to promote economic growth in the city.

Legislative Committee
Meets during the legislative session at the Capital from noon to 1:30pm.
To review proposed legislation and recommend appropriate action, maintain a knowledgeable position relative to congressional, state and city governmental action.  To keep the Chamber Members informed of new legislation and its effects.  This committee concentrates on areas of legislation that will influence job creation and business retention.

Business / Education Committee
Meets 2nd Tuesday of each month in City Council Chambers at noon. No charge for lunch.
Study the needs and aims of local educational institutions and keeps the Chamber Members informed on matters pertinent to these ends.  It is the liaison between business and the education community to develop and initiate programs to expose students to business practices and opportunities.  The South Salt Lake Fire Department and Police Department are involved in this committee.

Public Relations Committee - Meets last Thursday of each month with Public Affairs at noon in the Chamber office. $5 for lunch.
Develop and be involved in the image building process which will enhance the position of the Chamber, the City of South Salt Lake, and the community.


Public Affairs Committee
Meets last Thursday of each month with Public Relation at noon in the Chamber office. $5 for lunch.
Work with public officials to the extent necessary for the improvement and benefit of the community.  Assist in the handling of problems of a general nature which would affect South Salt Lake as a whole.  Cooperate with City Officials in campaigns, drives or canvassing of a patriotic or merciful nature.

Businesswomen’s Committee
Meets 2nd Wednesday of each month at noon at Credit Union One (3226 S. Main Street). Lunch assignments rotate.
Promote, educate and assist women in furthering their career opportunities. Sponsoring educational programs and networking functions which will enable women members in the business community to develop skills and opportunities which will enhance their career goals.
