About the South Salt Lake Chamber
The South Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce brings together businesses, nonprofit organizations, professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, government, and community leaders who believe South Salt Lake is stronger when we work together.
We create opportunities for people to connect, learn from one another, support local businesses, and contribute to the future of our community. Whether it’s a conversation at a networking event, a partnership between a business and a school, or a committee working to address a shared challenge, we believe meaningful progress starts when people come together.
But a Chamber is only as strong as the people who participate in it. Our members bring different experiences, ideas, expertise, resources, and perspectives. Some lead businesses, some volunteer their time, some mentor students, and others simply show up ready to meet someone new. Every contribution matters, and everyone has a role to play in building a stronger business community.

What We Believe
Our work is guided by a few fundamental beliefs about what makes a business community thrive.
Everyone Has a Place Here
South Salt Lake is home to businesses and people with different goals, experiences, and ambitions. Our Chamber should reflect that. From small businesses and entrepreneurs to established employers, nonprofits, creatives, educators, and community leaders, we welcome those who want to contribute to the success of our community.
You don't have to be a certain size, work in a particular industry, or hold a leadership title to make a difference. There are many ways to get involved, and we believe the Chamber is stronger when more voices are part of the conversation.
We Will Change to Serve Our Business Community
The needs of businesses evolve, and the Chamber must evolve with them. We are continually learning, improving, and finding better ways to serve our members and the broader community.
That means listening to our members and being willing to try new ideas. We don't believe in doing something simply because it has always been done that way. Our responsibility is to create meaningful value, respond to emerging needs, and build an organization that can serve South Salt Lake for years to come.
Investing in Our Future
A strong business community depends on the people who will shape its future. We believe young people deserve opportunities to explore careers, discover their strengths, meet professionals, and understand the possibilities available to them.
Through our Business & Education Committee and relationships with local schools, employers, and community partners, we work to connect students with mentorship, internships, job shadows, career exploration, and other real-world experiences. By building stronger connections between education and business, we help students prepare for their futures while supporting the long-term strength of our local workforce.
Bringing Community Together
One of the most valuable things a Chamber can do is bring people into the same room.
We create spaces for these connections to happen through events, committees, programs, and partnerships. We believe relationships are not separate from economic development. They are part of what makes it possible.
Empowering Women to Lead
We believe our business community is stronger when women have the relationships, resources, and opportunities to grow and lead. Through Women in Business, we create opportunities for women entrepreneurs, professionals, and leaders to learn from one another, build meaningful connections, share experiences, and support each other's success.
We welcome everyone who wants to contribute to this work, including men who serve as allies, mentors, and champions of women's leadership. Our goal is to help build a business community where women can thrive and where their ideas, leadership, and accomplishments are valued.
We Work on Kindness
We care about what we accomplish, but we also care about how we treat people along the way.
We believe business can be ambitious without being cold, advocacy can be strong without being hostile, and networking can be generous rather than transactional. Kindness means welcoming people, making introductions, sharing knowledge, celebrating others' successes, and treating people with respect even when we disagree.
When people feel welcomed and valued, they are more likely to participate, collaborate, and help one another succeed. That trust makes our community stronger.
What We Do
Our work takes many forms, but it centers on four connected functions.
Connect
We bring together businesses, professionals, organizations, government, educators, and community leaders to build relationships and discover opportunities to work together.
Educate
We create opportunities for members to learn, develop professionally, share expertise, and access information and resources that support their growth.
Advocate
We listen to the business community and help bring business perspectives into conversations that affect local businesses and their ability to operate and grow.
Develop
We invest in people, businesses, workforce connections, and community partnerships that contribute to South Salt Lake's future.
