The South Salt Lake Chamber Women in Business Committee is dedicated to building a welcoming, supportive community where women can grow their businesses, advance their careers, and build meaningful professional relationships. Through learning, connection, and collaboration, the committee creates opportunities for women to share experiences, exchange ideas, and support one another’s success.

The committee focuses on:

1. Women in Business Breakfasts: Guest speakers, practical insights, and conversations about leadership, business growth, and professional development.
2. Annual Women in Business Mixer: A signature gathering that brings women from across South Salt Lake together to expand their networks and build new relationships.
3. Happy Hours & Networking: Casual gatherings that make it easy to meet new people, reconnect with peers, and develop professional relationships.
4. Peer Support & Collaboration: Opportunities to exchange resources, share referrals, explore partnerships, and learn from other women in the business community.
5. Leadership & Community Involvement: Opportunities to help shape programming, recommend speakers and topics, and contribute to a stronger business community.

The South Salt Lake Chamber Ambassador Program brings together engaged business professionals who help local businesses feel welcomed, supported, and connected to the Chamber and the broader community. Ambassadors serve as a friendly face of the Chamber, building relationships with members, welcoming newcomers, celebrating business milestones, and helping more people discover the opportunities available through Chamber involvement.

The program focuses on:

1. New Member Welcome & Retention: Welcome new members, participate in Greet & Meet events, and check in with members throughout the year to help them get connected and make the most of their Chamber membership.
2. Business Outreach & Engagement: Visit local businesses, learn about their needs and successes, share Chamber resources, and connect business owners with relevant programs and opportunities.
3. Ribbon Cuttings & Business Celebrations: Show up for grand openings, ribbon cuttings, and groundbreakings to celebrate local businesses and help share their stories through social media and community outreach.
4. Event Engagement & Recruitment: Welcome guests at Chamber events, introduce prospective members to the Chamber, and encourage businesses to get involved.
5. Professional Growth & Networking: Build relationships with business owners, community leaders, and fellow professionals while developing leadership, communication, and community engagement skills.
6. Monthly Ambassador Meetings: Connect with fellow Ambassadors during an hour of Chamber updates, upcoming event planning, brainstorming, and relationship-building.

Ambassadors have the opportunity to increase their business visibility, expand their professional networks, strengthen their leadership skills, and make a meaningful impact on South Salt Lake’s business community.

The South Salt Lake Chamber Downtown Collective brings together business owners, property owners, developers, creatives, and City partners to help shape the future of downtown South Salt Lake. This volunteer committee provides a space for downtown stakeholders to share ideas, identify common priorities, and work together toward a vibrant, connected, and economically resilient district. Through collaboration and the Chamber, the Collective helps bring a unified downtown perspective to City conversations and community initiatives.

The committee focuses on:

1. Policy & Advocacy: Bring downtown perspectives to discussions about City planning, development, transportation, parking, and other issues that affect local businesses and property owners.
2. Creative Placemaking: Support public art, community events, and programming that make downtown a more engaging place to visit, work, and do business.
3. Business Connection: Strengthen communication between the City and downtown stakeholders while supporting small businesses, arts and culture, and mixed-use development.
4. Branding & Identity: Develop and promote a cohesive downtown identity that highlights the district’s character, businesses, and destinations.
5. Infrastructure & Access: Identify opportunities to improve walkability, lighting, transportation, parking, and connections throughout the district.

Our District: Downtown South Salt Lake extends from 2100 South to I-80 and from State Street to I-15.

In its first year, the Collective aims to establish its founding statement and top priorities, host community input opportunities and a public event, deliver a formal policy recommendation to the City, and develop a recognizable downtown identity.

Whether you own a business, manage property, create, develop, or simply care about downtown South Salt Lake, your perspective belongs at the table. As subcommittees and additional opportunities launch, there will be more ways to contribute and help shape what comes next.

The South Salt Lake Chamber Business & Education Committee brings together local businesses, schools, city partners, public safety agencies, and nonprofits to create meaningful connections between the business community and local students. By understanding the needs of schools and educators and connecting them with people and resources ready to help, the committee creates opportunities for students to explore careers, build skills, and prepare for their futures while strengthening the community as a whole.

The committee focuses on:

1. Career Exploration & Workforce Development: Connect students with internships, apprenticeships, job shadows, Career Days, mock interviews, career speakers, and industry tours that introduce them to real-world opportunities.
2. Mentorship & Literacy: Engage business professionals and community volunteers in mentoring, reading programs, and classroom visits that expose students to positive role models and new possibilities.
3. Community Give Back Day: Mobilize business volunteers to support school improvement projects, including landscaping, painting, playground upgrades, and classroom organization.
4. School & Community Support: Connect schools and nonprofits with businesses willing to contribute supplies, equipment, funding, scholarships, and volunteer time.
5. Educator Appreciation: Recognize and support teachers and school staff through appreciation events, classroom resources, and community partnerships.
6. Business & School Partnerships: Build lasting relationships between educators and employers to better understand student needs, strengthen career pathways, and align learning with local workforce opportunities.

The committee meets monthly to listen to schools and community partners, identify emerging needs, and coordinate opportunities for businesses and individuals to get involved. Rather than asking every business to do everything, the Chamber helps match each partner’s interests, resources, and capacity with opportunities where they can make a meaningful difference.
