Committees

Get Connected and become involved with one or more of the South Salt Lake Chamber's great committees!

For more information about any of these committees, please email us.

AMBASSADORS

This group of business people meets monthly to discuss how best to serve Chamber members.

The key charge for the Ambassadors is to arrange goodwill visits to ensure Chamber members are receiving the value they want.  Also, we call on new businesses in the City.

BUSINESS / EDUCATION

This committee has representation from the leadership of all educational entities in the city, local businesses,

key organizations, the police and fire departments, and the Chamber and the CIty.  Monthly meetings create a forum for open communication, sharing of ideas and assisting one another with specific programs.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

This committee focuses on strengthening communication and education among all businesses in the City.  Regular visits are scheduled with key employers so all can become more aware of and help each other succeed.  Also, we team with the Promise SSL Jobs and the Economy Council that focuses on helping

SSL residents become qualified and find employment with local employers.

GOLF

The Chamber hosts its successful (and fun) annual 9-hole tournament at Golf The Round in South Salt Lake every August. Two board members are heading up this committee, and we ALWAYS need golfers / volunteers to help run this event.  If interested, please contact Gary Birdsall.

CHAMBER CONNECTION

The purpose of the Chamber Connection is networking and building potential long-term business relationships. This committee coordinates networking luncheons at various times throughout the year.  We are seeking Chamber volunteers who value networking opportunities and coordinating such events.  Please contact our office manager, Natausha Calveri.

LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS

Our Chamber teams up with the Salt Lake Chamber and other chambers along the Wasatch Front (through the Utah State Chamber) to address key concerns that affect businesses.  We meet during the Utah legislative session, including visits to "The Hill."  As a group, this gives us a great deal of credibility with the 104 legislators in the Utah Senate and House.  There is no official committee for the SSL Chamber, because we partner with the Salt Lake Chamber.  Their annual Public Policy Guide is shared with Chamber board members, and we place key information in our newsletter, as needed.  If you have interest in being involved with this important process please contact Gary Birdsall.

WOMEN IN BUSINESS

Top business women in South Salt Lake City team up for networking, education and community involvement.

A few of their key annual events include "Meet the Candidates" and a Multi-Chamber Women in Business education forum.  In addition, a charitable "cause" is selected each year for support by this group.
