The Women in Business Leadership Committee is an opportunity for women who are passionate about making an impact in South Salt Lake and want to help shape the future of the Women in Business program.
While Women in Business is open to all Chamber members and serves as a welcoming community for connection, learning, and professional growth, the Leadership Committee is a smaller group of dedicated volunteers selected through an application process. Committee members work alongside the Chamber to develop programming, strengthen relationships within our business community, and create meaningful experiences that support and elevate women across South Salt Lake.
This is an opportunity to lead from within—to bring your ideas to the table, invest in the success of others, and help build a program that reflects the needs and aspirations of women in our community.
What It Means to Lead
Members of the Women in Business Leadership Committee help guide the vision and success of the program by:
- Leading — helping set the direction for Women in Business programming, sharing ideas, and taking ownership of initiatives.
- Planning events — collaborating each month to develop luncheon topics, identify speakers, organize mixers, and highlight local businesses.
- Hosting — opening your business or helping coordinate events in local, women-owned spaces.
- Building community — welcoming new members, making introductions, fostering connections, and creating an inclusive environment.
- Serving as ambassadors — representing the South Salt Lake Chamber and Women in Business throughout the community while encouraging participation and engagement.
Committee Expectations
To serve on the Women in Business Leadership Committee, members agree to:
- Maintain an active South Salt Lake Chamber membership.
- Attend at least 60% of monthly Leadership Committee meetings.
- Attend at least 60% of Women in Business events, including luncheons and networking mixers.
- Assist with planning or supporting at least one Women in Business program or event each year.
- Actively contribute ideas, participate in committee discussions, and support the growth of the program.
Selection Process
The Women in Business Leadership Committee is an application-based volunteer leadership opportunity. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed as committee openings become available.
We seek women who are collaborative, community-minded, and excited to help grow a program that empowers, connects, and supports women throughout South Salt Lake.
